The IDF was active on land and from the air in the West Bank Sunday night, hitting
targets in El-Bireh, Tulkarm and Beituniya in retaliation for the killing of three Israeli soldiers and four civilians since Saturday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent society said three people were injured by tank rounds fired at two different locations in El Bireh. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon cut short his week long vacation and met last night with Israel's security cabinet to discuss Israeli responses to the latest round of Palestinian violence. Military analysts believe the IDF may raise the level of its retaliations to include targeting manned Palestinian positions. The IDF's actions last night followed Palestinian violence that claimed the life of a seventh victim in two days. Dov Roseman, 58, a merchant from Netanya, was shot dead Sunday afternoon near Kibbutz Magal, on the Israeli side of the "Green Line" north of Tulkarm. Roseman was reportedly meeting Palestinians on a business transaction when he was fatally wounded by shots from close range. Officials believe the assailants waited in ambush and later fled to a nearby West Bank village.
